Today I only managed a couple of sets of bridges. I chickened out of the handstand...
Short Bridge:
1 x 20
1 x 20
Notes: These seemed easy enough until I got into the last 5 to 7 reps when it felt like my hamstrings were tightening up and even cramping.
Wall Headstand:
0 seconds
Notes: I tried half heartedly a couple times to get my legs up off the ground but in the end it just didn't feel right. It's true I have limited space and if I do fall I'll risk injuring myself on a piece of furniture but really it's a bit more than that.
Being upside down is surprisingly disorienting and unstable!
However I take some solace directly from the pages of Convict Conditioning:
"Beginners are advised to master close pushups, Step 6 of the regular pushup series...before even beginning Step 1 of the handstand pushup series. Doing so will condition your hands, forearms and shoulder girdle to the rigors of supporting the entire bodyweight."
Who am I to argue?
Although I probably should have read that before trying...
